HyperbeeAI builds compact, high-performing large language models designed to run on-premises or on small devices, giving enterprises data privacy and low cost of ownership without sacrificing accuracy, alongside products for enterprise search, conversational data access, and real-time translation.

HyperbeeAI was founded in December 2019 by Ahmet Karakaş, who holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Arizona, focused on neural network-based robotics control. He was previously Chief Audio Architect at PortalPlayer, which built the original Apple iPod, then founded and led Gauda, one of the first companies to apply GPUs to technical computing (later acquired by D2S), before advising and building products for Shazam, Nintendo, and introduce social.

Most enterprise AI deployments assumed cloud-scale infrastructure, but regulated and privacy-sensitive industries needed models that could run locally without giving up performance. HyperbeeAI's small-footprint approach, later validated by a #1 ranking among 7B-parameter models on the Hugging Face Open LLM Leaderboard, addressed that gap directly.
